How Many Times Can FreePost® Wall Lizard™ Film Be Reused on Office Partition Glass?

There is no published reuse count for FreePost® Wall Lizard™ film. Scitop Ltd’s product data states that the film can be applied, lifted and re-applied on clean, smooth surfaces, and that it comes away without adhesive residue, including after long service. It does not state how many application cycles a sheet survives, and no cycle count should be assumed. The useful planning question is therefore not “what is the number?” but “what does the documented behaviour allow, and what has to be controlled on site to keep a sheet in service?”

The absence of a cycle count is not a short-life rating. Wall Lizard™ film is specified for short-term or long-term indoor use on suitable surfaces, and it is documented to hold through long service. Peel force, where a buyer later obtains a figure, is a handling specification. It is not a service-life rating, and it should not be matched to campaign length, glass orientation, foot traffic, HVAC or vibration.

FreePost® Wall Lizard™ data does not publish a reuse count, so the plan rests on documented behaviour and site handling

Anyone quoting “you can reuse it N times” is quoting a figure the manufacturer has not published. What the documentation does support is the behaviour: dry application, bubble-free contact on clean smooth surfaces such as glass, stainless steel and acrylic, peel and reposition, and removal with no residual adhesive. Those are the properties a partition-glass programme can rely on. A cycle count is not among them. Treat any specific figure, including one on a sales sheet, as unverified, and have it confirmed in writing against the model data sheet for the surface and the handling routine you actually use.

That is the engineering position, not a hedge. How many times a given sheet comes back into service depends on conditions the film maker does not control: how clean the glass is, whether the sheet is creased or wrinkled in handling, whether it is stored flat or crushed, and how the face is printed. A single published cycle number would describe only one set of those conditions.

Partition glass changes its message far more often than the panel, which is where easy removal changes the cost of a refresh

A glazed meeting-room wall or a corridor partition typically carries notices, wayfinding, campaign artwork or internal branding that is refreshed monthly or quarterly, while the glass itself stays for years. With ordinary pressure-sensitive advertising film, each change means lining up a graphic, chasing bubbles, and then removing the old one — scraping, solvent-wiping, and living with the chance of adhesive haze on the glass. In most buildings that removal is a facilities callout, so the cost of a new poster is not the print.

FreePost® Wall Lizard™ is built for that changeover: Easy install, Easy remove, No residual. A receptionist or office manager can lift a corner, take the sheet off a clean pane, hang the new one, and re-hang last month’s artwork on another corridor pane — no specialist crew, no cleaning chemicals, no scraped glass. Because the sheet comes away clean, the same panel can carry a different message next week without a maintenance ticket. Poster-level graphics on these films are meant to be changed by the people already on the floor.

Wall Lizard™ film uses Scitop Ltd’s patented gecko toe pad cling technology: non-static biomimetic adsorption inspired by the gecko toe, with micro-adsorption, air-guiding and a dotted removable adhesive. The practical point of that construction, for this job, is observable: on a clean smooth pane the sheet holds flat for long service, and it releases without leaving adhesive behind.

Reuse means lifting, repositioning and re-hanging the same sheet, under Wall Lizard™ handling conditions

The routine documented for FreePost® Wall Lizard™ is dry. Apply to a clean, smooth, flat surface and smooth the film down. If it lands crooked, lift it and lay it again. Do not transfer a wet-mount or slip-agent method from another FreePost® model onto Wall Lizard™. Mounting method is model-specific, and a wet hang is outside the method stated for this film. Moisture left under the face is a reason the result may not match a dry application; it is not described as an irreversible scrap condition.

For a sheet you intend to hang again: peel from a corner at a shallow angle, keep the printed face from wrinkling, lay the sheet back on its release liner or face-up on a clean flat surface, and store it flat rather than folded or tightly rolled. Before re-hanging, wipe the glass. A partition pane collects fingerprints and cleaning residue at handle height, and a sheet laid over that contact will cling unevenly and lift at an edge.

On this model group, wrinkles and curing affect cling durability. That is a handling limit, not a statement that a wrinkled sheet is permanently ruined, and it is not the crease note that belongs to a different FreePost® construction. Check that the sheet still lies flat before it goes back on the glass.

The Wall Lizard™ model you pick decides whether the panel reads as a poster or as a see-through graphic

Twelve models share the Wall Lizard™ platform and they are not interchangeable. Face, thickness and documented print methods differ. Print compatibility has to be read on the model row, never as a series-wide claim. A Latex-only shop cannot assume an HP Indigo model will run, and an aqueous office printer cannot assume an eco-solvent model will run.

Two selection rules follow, and neither of them is an adhesion-grade map.

First, clear and translucent faces leave the partition visually open. White faces block the view and give text contrast. WL-TAPE60 is a mounting aid with a permanent adhesive on one side and a dotted removable cling adhesive on the other. Do not plan it as the sheet you lift and re-hang, and do not assume the permanent face behaves like the cling face. For a poster the floor staff will change themselves, use a cling-film model and match it to the press you actually run.

Second, environment is model-specific in the table, and the series rule is indoor only. Only WL-WB140S and WL-PET115U1C9-EZ state Indoor in the table above. A blank environment cell is not an outdoor rating. Wall Lizard™ is for indoor use only — window advertising, seasonal promotions, trade exhibitions and interior decoration — on glass, stainless steel and acrylic, and it cannot be used outdoors. Excellent aging and weather resistance does not make an outdoor rating. Removability does not decide service life: use is short-term or long-term, indoors, with no adhesive residue even after long service. Where a pane is weather-exposed, do not specify this film; for outdoor graphics, use an AC-series model rated for indoor and outdoor use.

Peel-force values are not published for these models. If a specification needs a number, take it from the model data sheet. Do not convert that number into a short-term or long-term use class, and do not assign models to vertical glass versus a horizontal counter on the basis of peel force. Every cling-film model here is for firm hanging on a clean smooth indoor surface, for short-term or long-term use. What you are choosing is face, thickness, print route, and how readily a non-specialist can mount and lift the sheet: Easy install, Easy remove, No residual.

Thickness and your own refresh arithmetic decide how many sheets you buy

Film thickness is the handling variable that shows up on a tall pane. At 165 μm total, a sheet is light and conforms readily, and it can fold onto itself during a solo re-hang. At 190 μm and above there is more body, so one person can position a large sheet without it curling shut. Neither is a durability class. If the people changing the glass are reception or office staff rather than a graphics crew, the stiffer totals are the more forgiving choice for that handling, not a “longer life” grade. Where the pane also has to be written on, WL-WB140S is the model whose data describes a wipe-clean face.

Keep spare sheets flat, on the liner, in a clean dry store. Wrinkles and curing affect cling durability on Wall Lizard™, so a crushed stack or a tight roll is a handling problem. On the Wall Lizard™ models that publish them, shelf life is two years and service temperature is −20 to 80 °C; WL-TAPE60 does not publish either figure. Do not copy a shelf-life or a storage-temperature window from another FreePost® model onto this one. Use the limit printed for the model you bought.

The quantity calculation is a break-even on your own rates, not a product rating. Count the panels you refresh (P) and the refreshes per year (F). Annual hangs equal P times F. If each sheet is used once, you buy that many sheets. If you have confirmed, for your glass and your handling, that a sheet is re-hung r times, you buy that annual total divided by r. Add your own film and print cost per sheet, and the minutes your own staff spend per hang. Do not insert a factory cycle count you have not had confirmed. The labour you no longer spend on a residue cleanup is part of the same sum, and it is your building’s figure, not a catalogue claim.

Cling durability drops for a short list of site conditions, and none of them is a calendar life

- Surface contamination. Dust, fingerprints and cleaning residue at handle height stop intimate contact. The sheet clings unevenly and a corner lifts. Clean and dry the pane first. This is a surface condition, not a used-up sheet. - Wrinkles and curing. On FreePost® Wall Lizard™, wrinkles and curing affect cling durability. Folding, crushing or dragging the face is how those wrinkles get into the sheet. Store flat on the liner, and do not hang a sheet that will not lie flat. This is not stated as a permanent, unrepairable failure. - Moisture under the face. Wall Lizard™ is a dry-application film in this guide. A wet mount, or a re-hang onto a damp pane, is outside that method. Dry the glass and apply dry. - A surface outside the recommendation. The surfaces stated for this film are clean and smooth — glass, stainless steel, acrylic. Textured, dusty, matt-coated or previously filmed glass is not covered, and results there are not guaranteed. - An environment rating you have not checked. Wall Lizard™ is for indoor use only. Do not treat a blank environment cell as outdoor permission, and do not treat removability as “short campaign only”. Do not infer outdoor use from peel force. Indoor window advertising is a stated use; weather-exposed outdoor use is not. If the graphic must be outdoors, use an AC-series model rated for indoor and outdoor use, not this film.

Before you commit, work through the pane, the press and the handling routine

1. Walk the floor and count the panels, the refresh frequency, and who will actually change the graphics. Plan on office staff doing that change, not a specialist install crew. 2. Check that every pane is smooth, clean glass — not textured, not matt-coated, not already carrying old film. 3. Decide see-through or opaque per panel, then pick the model against your own printer’s process. Do not buy “Wall Lizard™” as if every row shared one ink set. 4. If you intend to put a reuse count into a budget, have that count confirmed in writing for your surface and your handling. Do not back-fill it from peel force or from another FreePost® model. 5. Print one test sheet, hang it, lift it and re-hang it, and let the person who will do the job in future do the last cycle. Confirm it still lies flat, with no residue on the glass.
