Innotech has launched a black display hardware collection, the first of its kind offered to the UK print industry, with twelve products available now. Roller banners, pavement signs, lightboxes, a magnetic totem and a cafe barrier system all arrive in a powder-coated black finish, built on the same hardware Innotech already supplies in silver. Visitors can see the whole collection on stand P655 at The Print Show, NEC Birmingham, from 29 September to 1 October 2026.

The new Black Collection range will be in addition to Innotech’s existing uncoated silver aluminium range. It is designed to give customers more flexibility when installed in public-facing environments, such as exhibitions, retail and reception areas. The initial 12 products are Innotech’s best-selling silver-equivalent products, including Origin, Predator II and Vantage roller banners.

Black display hardware meets changing design trends

The way modern public spaces are designed has changed over recent years. A 2024 hardware specification report found that 68% of architects and designers now specify matt black as either a primary or secondary finish, compared with just 32% only three years ago. The automotive industry is also using more black finishes, rather than chrome, and retailers are increasingly using dark fixtures and framing on product shelves.

Kieran Dallow, Head of CX and Marketing for Innotech, says, “Silver aluminium has been the standard for the portable display market for many years. Our customers are looking for more choice when designing and specifying their signage installations, and the Black Collection gives them that choice.”

He adds, “The standard is silver, and I’m sure these will continue to be a top seller for us. But standards also move. The increasing demand for black finishes to display signage is something that we can now meet with a high-quality range of familiar, yet different, products. We are looking forward to showing them off at The Print Show.”

The opening release covers the 12 products printers order most, with more to come. The Black Collection carries a small pricing premium of around 10% over the equivalent silver items. Graphic sizes and fitting methods stay the same.

Innotech is on stand P655 in the centre of The Print Show hall, with the full black collection on display, alongside the wider print media and display hardware range. Innotech media can also be found on China Print Supplies’ stands at the co-locating Sign Show (S220 and S420).

Kieran concludes, “This is a new product range that we are really proud of, and we can’t wait to hear the feedback from The Print Show visitors. These products offer an immediately clear, relatable benefit for customers across many sectors, giving them more options to enhance their environments. The future is Black!”
