Media One has acquired the U.S. business and assets of Premex Solutions, expanding its digital textile portfolio with additional print-ready fabrics and technical capabilities for the home décor, interior design and apparel markets.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition adds Premex Solutions to Media One’s portfolio alongside Fisher Textiles and Hyperflex Vinyls, advancing the company’s strategy of providing printing equipment, materials, finishing technology and technical services through an integrated platform.
Based in Marietta, Georgia, Premex Solutions supplies print-ready fabrics for digital textile applications across home furnishings, interior décor, fashion and related markets. The business has operated as a subsidiary of Premier Textiles, a family-owned U.K. textile company founded in 1981.
Premex brings Media One an expanded selection of natural and specialty textiles, including pre-treated fabrics, as well as technical expertise developed specifically for digital printing applications. Media One plans to combine those capabilities with its existing printing technology, inks, equipment, finishing solutions, distribution network and nationwide technical support.
The acquisition also expands the product offering available through Fisher Textiles, Media One’s textile business, giving customers access to a broader selection of fabrics and production capabilities as the company targets growth in home décor and apparel.
“Premex has developed best-in-class print-ready and pre-treated fabrics, along with real technical depth in natural and specialty textiles that complements our own printing technology and service expertise,” Media One CEO Jake Feldman said.
The strategic value of the transaction centers on creating a more complete digital textile production offering. Rather than supplying individual components of the printing process, Media One is building a portfolio capable of providing fabrics, printing systems, inks, finishing equipment and ongoing technical support under one organization.
That model extends Media One further into applications where textile selection and preparation can be closely connected to print quality and production performance. Home furnishings, interior décor and fashion represent markets where manufacturers and print providers often require different fabric characteristics, treatment processes and printing technologies depending on the finished product.
Premex’s customer relationships also give Media One an established base from which to expand its presence in those markets. Existing Premex customers will continue working with the company’s current personnel and products while gaining access to Media One’s broader printing and technical capabilities.
For Premier Textiles, the sale transfers the U.S. digital printing operation to a company focused on building a larger integrated platform around wide-format and textile printing.
“Premex Solutions represents an important extension of that legacy into the U.S. digital printing market, so finding the right long-term home for the business was very important to us,” Premier Textiles Managing Director Ashok Kallumpram said.
Nick Smith, managing director of Premier Digital Textiles, said combining Premex’s textile portfolio with Media One’s digital printing capabilities creates additional opportunities for customers and employees. Premier Textiles will support the transition following the transaction.
Media One, based in Garden Grove, California, operates as a full-service integrator and value-added distributor serving large-format print providers across the United States. Its product and service portfolio includes printers, inks, fabrics, paper, vinyl, laminates, finishing equipment, software, color management, training and maintenance.
The Premex transaction builds on that model by increasing Media One’s exposure to textile-focused applications and adding specialized expertise in print-ready materials. It also complements Fisher Textiles and Hyperflex Vinyls, giving the company a wider materials portfolio alongside its equipment and service operations.
With Premex integrated into the business, Media One is positioning its platform to serve a larger portion of the digital textile production process while pursuing additional growth in home décor and apparel.
